COLLEGE WEEKEND
Coaches Attending
On July 24th and July 25th
at Seven Bridges Ice Arena some of the finest Division I
college coaches in the US will convene in Chicago to work with
all Bauer Select players. The weekend will be highlighted with
on ice instruction, off ice instruction, along with a seminar
for players and parents led by the Bauer staff and the attending
Division I college, Junior and Prep School coaches. Last year
we had fourteen (14) Division One NCAA Coaches come in and work
with the players.
At the College Weekend players have
the opportunity to train with college coaches and understand
what they expect during practices and games. The chance to work
with 8-12 different college, junior and prep school coaches in
one weekend truly makes this experience unique. Some of the
coaches over the years include; George Roll/Clarkson, Scott
Paluch/Bowling Green, Bob Daniels/Ferris State, Mark
Kauffman/Ferris State, Rico Blasi/Miami Ohio, Scott Borek/UNH,
Mel Peterson/Michigan, Guy Perron/Main, Casey Jones/Ohio State,
Andy Slaggert/Notre Dame, Matt Laatsch/Denver, Wayne Wilson/RIT,
Dave Quinn/BU, Pat Dennehy/Choate Prep, Steve Poapst/Chicago
Steel and Mark Carlson/Cedar Rapids.
The Parent Seminar will take place at
Seven Bridges Ice Arena on Saturday, July 24th @
2:15-3:30pm. Focus points for the round table discussion will
include; College Application Process, NCAA eligibility, NCAA
clearinghouse. USHL Draft System, Major Junior Hockey vs.
College Hockey and expectations on the student athlete. Parents
are encouraged to ask questions and interact during the seminar
with the who’s who of college and junior hockey.
Parents and
players need to arrive on Saturday morning. Ice times and
weekend schedule are below for each age level. Please make
