2010 PROGRAM

In 2010, we will field teams at the 1995, 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999, 2000 and 2001 birth years.

The primary goal of the Bauer Selects Program is to foster the best developmental environment possible for elite players, giving them exposure to high-caliber coaching and training methods and preparing them for Junior and College hockey.  The program combines education with athletics and looks to take the best athletes, who are playing hockey, guide these athletes through the proper development process and turn them into the most competitive teams possible.  The Bauer Selects Program is more capable, more experienced, and more proficient in doing this than any other program out there.

Our Program Has Four Components;

ITournament Events:  All Bauer Select teams compete in three to four elite AAA tournaments in the spring and summer.  Click the 2010 Events for each individual age level tournament they will attend.

II –Residence Camp:  From July 20-23, 2010 the 1996, 1997, 1998 1999 and 2000 age players will have the opportunity to train in our intensive Residential Training Camp.  Players will stay at Benedictine

University in Lisle, Illinois and skate and train at the nearby Seven Bridges Ice Arena.  At the camp the players will continue to train with elite level coaches from a wide variety of backgrounds, including college and junior hockey.  And even as the tempo and pace of the training sessions challenge the players’ physical skills, the emphasis is on developing the thinking skills so important to high-level hockey, including on-ice tactical concepts and how they relate to team play. Click the Residence Camp link for more information.

III – College Coaches Weekend:  On July 24 and 25th and at the completion of the Residence Camp, the Bauer Select players (and the 1995 and 2001 age levels) will spend time on and off the ice with a wide variety of current NCAA college hockey coaches, as well as USHL junior coaches.  The coaches spend approximately 5 hours on the ice and also host a player/parent seminar to discuss many aspects of advancing to the college hockey level. Click the College Weekend link for more detailed information and ice times for each age level.

IV – World Class Challenge, Stockholm, Sweden:  From August 9-16, 2010, the Bauer Selects will send our 1996, 1997, 1998, 1999 and 2000 age level teams to Stockholm, Sweden to compete against the best that Sweden, Russia and the Czech Republic has to offer.  The World Class Challenge tournament will cap off the 2010 Bauer Selects season.
